Description

ORIGINAL WORLD WAR TWO GERMAN ISSUED PRISONER OF WAR CAMP MONEY 1 REICHSMARK.  This currency titled 'KRIEGSGFANGENEN LAGERGELD" (translates to "PRISONER OF WAR CAMP MONEY") was issued by German POW camps to allied prisoners for compensation of work.  This currency was to be used in exchange for goods at the POW camp canteen.  This note is for 1 Reichsmark.  The note is one sided & measures about 3 1/2 inches long X 1 3/4 inches wide.  In overall fair condition showing some wear, creases, age & a little tatter along one edge.  The reverse has a period tape repair along the fold line.  An interesting original piece of WWII prisoner of war history!
