in
PLAIN BLACK LEATHER

The holster is branded,
FONT ????
and some other lettering after that is not readable.
It is however surprisingly well made and sturdy,  from a heavy clean tight grained leather.  I find old school holsters in many ways much more durable than todays holsters.
This is the SNAP LOOP design, (patented 1928) made to either snap over your pants without removing your belt, or it can be looped thru the slot of a "HOLLYWOOD" type slotted gun belt.
It fits a belt in a slight Muzzle Forward presentation.

Wet molded and hand blocked for the guns intended, the holster
has a fine stitched, non-welted seam.  Open trigger guard,  Metal reinforced.  It even has a little decorative cut and scored borders.
The loop and retention strap close with Plain Chromed snaps.  They are United CARR and of a type used up to about the 1960's...dating the holster.
The loops is also metal reinforced.

The holster is marked on the back with the partially readable logo no application code
Trial and error show this was likely made for Medium Framed, hand ejectors, with a thinner 4" pinned type barrel.
The holster is also not bad for 3" barrels, lugs, heavy barrels and shrouds ok..in the 3" barrels only.
